This is our primary text, written by Sh Muhammad Tufail.
It contains:
- a review of the arabic alphabet in all its various forms.
- all of the rules for reading and reciting the words of the qur'an with proper pronunciation and rhythmicity.
- a review of various Qur'an reading "markers" regarding how the quran is comprised of "sections", for recitation.
- a supplemental section, in the back of the book, that contains "al-Fatiha" (Chapter One)
and several of the short latter chapters from the Qur'an

This is a 12 week Course in Basic Qur’anic Arabic Reading Rules with Ustaadth Muhammad Mahdi
Meets Weekly, on Sundays @12:00noonE, Online Live Zoom Session – 90minutes.
And on Wednesday evenings @7pmE – 60minutes.

– the arabic alphabet and how the letters appear in the beginning, middle, and at the end of any word
– the use of short vowel sounds (fatha/kisra/damma)
– the use of sukun
– the use of long vowel sounds (fatha-alif / kisra-yaa with sukun / damma – wow with sukun
– the use of long vowel sounds with “standing fatha, standing kisra, standing wow”, and alif maqsura
– the use of tashdid (shaddah)
– the use of madd (maddah)
– the use of tanwin
– the assimilation of letters (ghunnah) ….eg: nun sound, followed by wow / nun sound, followed by yaa

– readily identify some frequently recurring words
in the Qur’an. (vocabulary)
